Three European species have been placed in this section. They are Mycena cyanorrhiza Quel., M. pachyderma Kühner, and M. pseudocyanorrhiza Robich. Only the first one has been found in Norway.

M. pachyderma is a poorly known and rather dubious species, and M. pseudocyanorrhiza is known from a few Italian collections and should be compared with M. cyanorrhiza by molecular methods.
